Le CHENE AUX OISEAUX

The grounds were quite nice, which makes the welcome we got all the more disappointing. The pool lights apparently weren't working, so we couldn't use the pool at night. We plugged in a tripod light to get in, and the owner seemed bothered enough to cut the electricity from his house. When we called about the power, he came over and accused us in a very aggressive tone of going into the locked maintenance area to switch on the pool light. We had assumed it worked, but they apparently didn't want us using it. He also blamed us for plugging the light in by the barbecue, though nobody had explained where or how to connect it. I followed the extension cord to find the connection because I thought that would avoid disturbing them at night, and he was very displeased. After that kind of frosty treatment, we won't be coming back.
