L Auberge Du Tire Bouchon

Really good.

The warm atmosphere made the stay especially pleasant, and we'd be happy to come back. The staff were kind, easy to reach, and always ready to help. We also enjoyed the great food, excellent service, and very good facilities at the auberge.

The welcome was warm, and the atmosphere felt lovely. We had a generous, well-prepared meal made with high-quality ingredients, without it feeling like too much. I’d gladly return for another good meal and wine, and highly recommend it.

We left wondering how soon we could come back. The welcome was warm, the service attentive, and the dining room peaceful. For gourmet menus under €25 per person, it’s hard to find a better deal nearby. Our two meals came to just under 50 euros, including a glass of Chardonnay with the fish and two excellent coffees. It was our first visit to Auberge du Tire Bouchon, and we’d heard that Thursday was calf’s head day. It lived up to the talk. The vegetables were excellent, and we know a thing or two about cooking them since we grow our own. The gribiche sauce was divine. My wife had gizzards with porcini mushrooms to start, then black cod with beurre blanc. She enjoyed it, and I did too after begging for a taste. Everything was cooked to perfection, which isn’t always the case. The desserts were a surprise, so you’ll have to visit to find out for yourself. This restaurant is well worth the detour.
