We had booked four nights, but left after the first. The first evening was fantastic. The next day, while I was walking up to our room, the owner's German Shepard attacked and bit me. Luckily, the owner was nearby and the wound was minor, but I still spent an evening in hospital and another full day getting the required tetanus vaccination. The hosts were very helpful with the treatment and seemed just as shocked as I was. We didn't have to pay for the stay. I hope steps have been taken so the dog doesn't attack anyone else.

A lovely garden centre, well worth a visit if you're into plants and gardening. The boss is a friendly Scottish lady with the best teeth this side of Los Angeles.

The food was good and dining there was really relaxing. The hosts were great too. The chateau is still a work in progress, but it's well worth visiting. Maybe an honesty bar would be nice, though whether that's a good idea depends on the sort of guests they've had before.

The plant range is extraordinary, and the advice is welcoming and knowledgeable. You can really see the breathtaking hard work that's gone into the nursery and is still happening there. Definitely a place to visit!

What a lovely evening at the 0pera. Carrie Jones was superb, Charlotte Forrest brilliant, and everyone was special. Can't wait to go again.
