We only needed a night to split up our drive to the UK, and this did the job nicely. The room had two bedrooms, which was useful, and the receptionist was lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was good, and the location in Coutances worked well for us.

There’s lots of parking, and the receptionist greeted us with real friendliness. Tea and coffee are free in the lobby. Coutances is only a short walk away and well worth a visit. We took a small detour off the motorway on our way back to the UK, but were glad we did.

The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were great. It was good value, and I’d stay again. The one awkward thing was the bedside lamp switch, which sat right behind my head.

The hotel has lovely rooms and a fabulous garden, and we were happy with both the location and the room size during our three-night weekend stay. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain, so we reported it on the first night. Nothing was done during the stay, perhaps because there wasn’t maintenance staff over the weekend. At checkout we raised it again, and they said they already knew about it, but that was the end of the conversation. It’s a very nice place, though I’ve taken off a star because of how the maintenance issue was handled.

We could walk into the center of Coutances for the cathedral and a lovely garden or park, and the hotel was well placed for seeing the area. By car, Mont-Saint-Michel, Saint-Malo, and the landing beaches, including Omaha and Utah, are about an hour away. The hotel itself is calm and cozy, with a nice terrace at the back. Breakfast was good and dinner even better, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
