Cool place.

A lovely, quiet, welcoming cottage. The showers could be more practical, though: the toilet and shower share one space, and there’s no chair to set your clothes on.

We stayed at the gîte while doing the Ardèche cycling tour, on a half-board basis. The welcome was satisfactory, but the meals were disappointing compared with other gîtes. Food quality was average and portions were too small. We were also short one loaf of bread, and the chocolate mousse was poor.

The owner and her father made us feel very welcome. They were attentive, understanding, and really friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed our short visit. The gîte works especially well for groups, with a layout and equipment that suited us perfectly. There’s a bar with a beer tap, foosball, a pool table, bedrooms, and a spotless kitchen, with plenty of room throughout. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathrooms immaculate, and the terrace was very pleasant. We’d happily recommend it.

We were about twenty, adults and kids, and had a great weekend at Le Virage for my 40th birthday. It rained the whole time, but the indoor space kept us busy without feeling cramped. The decor has a nice Route 66 feel, and the cottage was clean and comfortable. Bed linens and towels were provided. The two floors are laid out really well. Upstairs there’s a designer kitchen with everything we needed, bathrooms, and four bedrooms with five beds each, with the option to add four more. That area is separate from the big open space downstairs, which has pool tables and foosball. I also rented wooden games, and there was lots of room to set them up. There’s a large table area and a bar with a professional beer tap. You can order kegs from the brewer in Privas, who’ll deliver before you arrive and pick them up after the party. Aurélie and her father were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They were flexible about check-in and check-out, which we really appreciated after celebrating. Aurélie also pointed us to an excellent pastry shop in Privas. The value for money was excellent too, and some of my guests said they’d save the address for another party or New Year’s Eve.
