Ibis Annecy Cran Gevrier Hotel

The staff really make this hotel. On one trip, Stephen found a charger we'd left behind, brought milk, and made sure we were comfortable. On an earlier visit, the receptionist did everything she could to help us park safely and legally. The family room is a good size, with super-comfy beds and quality linens. Parking is difficult. There aren't many spaces, and the headroom is restricted, so a roof box or even an SUV won't fit. Street parking is also limited, poorly marked, and heavily policed. There aren't enough electrical sockets, and they point down from a dado rail, so converters might fall onto the floor. On our first visit, we also had a hard time escaping the dog poo smell. I'm not sure if people track it in, since locals rarely clean up after their dogs, or if it's because dogs are allowed in the hotel.

The HVAC made a lot of noise but didn't heat the room at all. The cutlery and glasses in the food court weren't clean, with food traces still on them. When we asked for salt, they said they'd run out. The woman was very polite about it, though. I know this chain has a certain standard and this is a three-star hotel, but basic requirements shouldn't be compromised.

The rooms were dusty and not clean. The service was really rude, and they acted like they didn't want us there.

The room smelled like a warehouse as soon as I walked in, and inside it was filthy, with mold everywhere. The staff were completely unacceptable too. One of the worst hotels in France. Simply unacceptable.
