Jacques is the heart of the place. He seems to do everything himself, from getting breakfast ready to cleaning the pool and rooms, then cooking dinner. The food was delicious: a three-course meal with ham, tomatoes, vegetables in cream sauce, pork or chicken with spaghetti or chips, and creme caramel. Breakfast was pastries and coffee with plenty of butter and fig preserves from the garden. The rooms are large, rustic, dusty and dated, but fine for a night’s sleep. We washed dinner down with a Grimberger and creme de cassis, which made for a memorable, authentic French stay. Get in before he sells it!

We had a very nice dinner here, and breakfast was good too. The owner seemed lovely. The room itself was basic and quite dirty, though, and the fridge didn't work. There was no wifi in the family room either.

The little bar Cafe and the friendly company there made this stay for me. Jack, the French owner, welcomed me and my bicycle after a tiring, wet day of cycling, and put the heater on so we could dry off. The room was old-fashioned and simple, but clean, with a good bed. He served a country chicken dinner and a good breakfast. Many thanks.

We needed somewhere to stay overnight at short notice, and the owner was charming and very accommodating in a rustic, straightforward way. When we arrived, he'd just popped out to get some eggs!!!! It’s a typically basic French hotel, just right if you like Kronenbourg on tap and rustic France.
