Fasthotel Soissons Nord

Out on the edge of the city, this hotel is up to a good standard and good value for money.

The service was very good.

Our room was fairly clean, though an unpleasant smell lingered the whole time. And don’t trust the Google photos, they don’t look like the building or the rooms.

The heating didn’t work, and after sleeping in a room at 13 degrees Celsius (55 degrees Fahrenheit), we left after one night instead of staying the planned two. This felt like a cheap, seedy place. The room wasn’t insulated properly, and housekeeping seemed nonexistent: there were several hairs and suspicious organic stains on the sheets, plus a monumental layer of dust on the headboard. Mold covered parts of the bathroom and the area around the window. The carpet and hallway walls had damp stains, and the outside was dirty and poorly maintained. Breakfast was as bad as the housekeeping, not fresh that morning. A disgusting place, almost unsanitary. Run away!
