STELLA MARIS Village vacances

The place was a mess, from the filthy floor and dirty sheets to the dead bugs and other grime under the bed. The room stank, and the dining room floor was covered in food. The toilet was full of poo and blocked the whole system. The walls were stained, too. The food was awful. The returned food made me sick, and there were actual ants in it. Staff weren’t welcoming or helpful, and they didn’t serve fresh food. Our packed lunch was moldy and had baby food in it. The yogurt was rock-hard and stuck in its packet. Everything was greasy and swimming in oil, and the sauce was terrible, moldy, and had odd things in it, including moldy carrots and disgusting peppers. Even the milk was horrible and warm, not refrigerated. Don’t stay here if you’re going on holiday. They need chefs who know how to cook.

The food was the main problem for me. Some of the usual dishes were okay, and the spaghetti bolognese was fairly nice, but we were also served things like ham and cheese crepes, beetroot with ranch, and a cheap pizza that tasted horrible. I’d eat out if you stay here. The staff were often moody and unhelpful, and didn’t come to clean the rooms. I stayed at hotel stella Maris from July 10-13, 2025. The hotel looks really nice from outside and has a football pitch, volleyball pitch, and tennis pitch that adults and kids can enjoy. I had low expectations from the other reviews, but my room in cosmos was nice, clean when I arrived, had no ants, and had a nice bathroom. The location is far from most things, so you’ll need a car, taxi, or bus to reach most tourist attractions. I’m not sure I’d recommend it, given the food and distance, though the rooms and family facilities are nice.

I went with my school. It looks nice from outside, but inside the rooms were filthy, messy, smelly, and full of bugs. The shower was rusty and moldy. The food was horrible, with most things either raw or drenched in oil. It felt like they were trying to poison us 😭. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Some staff were friendly and welcomed us, and a few appreciated our attempts to speak French. Others in the restaurant were rude, ignored us when we tried to be polite in French, or didn’t speak to us at all, perhaps because of the language barrier. That barrier could be handled better. We were there as a school group. The rooms had mold in the shower, holes in the ceiling, and marks and stains all over the walls. Keep food in sealed bags, since ants will get into anything left out. Room cleaning didn’t happen while we were away, so staying there felt like moving into a new house and then having to move back out after a few paid days. Some dinners were okay, but most of the meals for children were shocking. Adults like parents, teachers, and guardians were served things like steak and carbonara. The hotel is quite cheap, which seems fair for its quality. If you’ll spend most of your time out seeing France, I’d recommend it. If you want to relax and stay at the hotel, I wouldn’t. It was rated 3.5, and we already had low expectations after reading reviews, but the hotel still fell short.
