When we arrived in the evening, the room was extremely cold, under 16°C. One heater was completely off, and the other, in the second room, was set to the lowest level, 1 out of 5. Don't stay here in winter!

The stairs were manageable thanks to the well-built steps, though we had to go up and down two or three flights. The bedrooms have been renovated within a historic building, so there are no lifts. Our room had everything we needed for a short stay, and opening the cleverly placed windows let in a nice cross-breeze on warm summer days. We had two fabulous, comfortable nights at Chai d'oeuvre in the underrated village of Dambach-la-Ville. Before we arrived, we got detailed information by WA, which made self check-in easy. Our host also shared useful tips and recommendations for things to do, places to eat, and spots to visit. Breakfast was served in the cozy ground-floor kitchen. We'd definitely stay again if we return to this charming village.

Chai d’Oeuvre is centrally located and worked perfectly as a base for seeing Alsace and its Christmas markets. The whole setting was reserved just for our family for four days and three nights. The village is lovely, peaceful, and relaxing, and the rental was fantastic. Everything was just right, including the excellent breakfast. Thanks, Pauline and Thiebaud, for your warm welcome, kindness, and availability. If we come back to Alsace, we'll get in touch again.

The hosts were welcoming, helpful, and easy to reach, and the price was more than reasonable. We had an excellent stay in this charming, fully renovated place, set in a beautiful, traditional village right on the Alsace Wine Route. Everything had been carefully considered. We'd happily rent from them again if we return to Alsace, and recommend it 100%.
