Residence Goelia La Pommeraie

We were warmly welcomed, and there was plenty for the children to enjoy, especially the covered play area and the indoor and heated outdoor pools. Our accommodation was roomy, nicely furnished, and comfortable for all four of us. We stayed at Goélia over the spring holidays and had lovely sunshine. The sea is about a 15-minute drive away, with Deauville, Cabourg, and Villers-sur-Mer easy to visit, though you do need a car. We had a wonderful family break and would happily recommend it.

The residence was peaceful, and the small outdoor space must be lovely when the weather's good. There are plenty of activities nearby. Still, the Goelia side could use some freshening up if it's to live up to the “Privilege” label, especially compared with the Pierre et Vacances residence, having stayed with both providers. The beds were comfortable enough, though the single duvets weren't great for a couple. The dishes were short in supply and not clean: we found food on plates, bowls, and cutlery. The indoor and outdoor pools were heated but crowded, though cooler weather meant they were less busy while we were there. The jacuzzis were always taken, and the showers were cold. Parking spaces were tight. For a four-day booking, arriving at 3 pm and leaving at 10 am meant we lost a day. A later checkout when possible would be a plus.

The Goelia accommodation was a lovely surprise, with lots of space and a very comfortable feel. It sits within the Pierre & Vacances Normandy Garden Village, so we could use all their facilities, including the pool, games room, restaurant, and well-stocked mini-market with bread service. The farm and equestrian center are also an easy walk away and have plenty of activities.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and there was entertainment all week for kids and adults. We were close to reception and the pool, which was handy since some units are much farther down the road. The facilities were excellent, and we had a relaxing week around New Year's near the coast and Deauville. It was very peaceful. The pool was lovely, especially the heated outdoor one 🤩. The hammam could be temperamental, and it got really crowded toward the end of the day, though that's the same at all campsites. A couple of things needed attention: the area behind the sofa hadn't been cleaned, paint was chipped on the walls, and the hob was worn out. The kitchen units were on top.
