You Hotel Deauville - Handwritten Collection

The reception team gave us great service and hospitality, and I’d definitely stay again. It’s a brand new hotel with a cool modern design and smart features like motion-sensor lights and smart switches. A couple of things went wrong: room service had a technical error and never arrived, and breakfast ran short on bread and pancakes, which weren’t replenished.

The lounge was nice, and the town is lovely. The rooms felt plain, with a seventies hospital look. At reception, the welcome ranged from friendly to completely hostile. I’m sure we’ll find a better deal next time.

They got our booking badly wrong and told us to leave a whole day early because of their mistake. My partner and I had booked a private room, but they suggested moving us to a shared dorm and still charging extra. There was no refund or apology. The staff came across as arrogant, disorganised and unhelpful, like they didn’t care about guests. The place felt neglected, basic cleanliness was overlooked, and our sheets weren’t changed one day. There was no kettle or coffee in the room, and no refills of toilet roll. You Hotel was a complete shambles and easily one of my worst hotel stays. Save yourself the stress and avoid it. Deauville has much better places to stay.

The staff were friendly, helpful and really nice, and the location is perfect. The lobby is huge, the design is pleasant, and the rooms feel modern, with Bluetooth music, a huge TV and several warm-light settings. Everything was super clean. You can rent the whole cinema room to watch whatever you like, or relax in the retro gaming arcade in the lobby. I’ll visit again!
