The rooms are basic, but roomy and had everything we needed. The hotel is also in a handy central spot, close to the Cathedral and just off the GR65/Chemin de St Jacques. It’s only rated 2 stars, yet it’s very clean. There’s a good bar, free wifi, friendly staff, and a restaurant serving very nice lunch and dinner. I’d definitely recommend it.

Dinner was the real letdown, almost impossible to eat. The hotel itself is old, and while the rooms have a decent amount of space, they’re dated and the shower is odd. I’ve stayed in better places, and worse ones too.

Malpel is an old, cosy hotel, and the staff were really helpful. They speak a little English. The restaurant, Moderne, serves good local food.

An older motel in Decazevele. The rooms are plain and clean, the beds were okay, and there’s no elevator.
