Le matelot de la baie

Deshaies is just a five-minute walk away, and the garden is lovely, with hummingbirds and other birds coming by. We spent two wonderful weeks here, enjoying the peaceful setting and splendid view. The bungalows are well appointed and air-conditioned, and breakfast on the first day came with a small bottle of planter's punch. We had the bungalow with the jacuzzi, and sitting there in the evening with the sea below was pure bliss. A huge thank you to Bruno for such a kind, warm welcome.

Walking into the village or heading out on hikes, then watching the sunset over the sea from the terrace, was exactly my kind of stay. The place was peaceful, and the service impeccable. Special thanks to Lucile, who knows everything about hiking. I loved these moments.

Eric and Lucile were lovely, attentive, and ready to help with anything. We booked through Booking.com, where it was stated that the deposit should be paid directly to the manager. We had no trouble with that, and paid the balance in cash on arrival and received an invoice. Eric and Lucile are transparent and trustworthy. We especially appreciated the welcome basket with a lunch snack, the complimentary bottle of planter's punch, and the snorkeling trip Eric also offered through his diving club. We were lucky to have the bungalow with the jacuzzi and its superb view over Deshaies Bay. The wooden place felt airy and pleasant, with good amenities, an attractive large mosquito net over the bed, and very comfortable bedding in the air-conditioned room. If you have questions or need information, don't hesitate to contact them directly. We had a fantastic stay at Matelot de la Baie and highly recommend it.

The toughest part of our extraordinary week at Le Matelot de la Baie was having to leave. We had fantastic views, cozy, comfortable bungalows, and the sea just steps away. Lucile and Eric, thanks for being so kind and for all the helpful advice.
