Domaine de Dienné

Our son loved it so much that we added a few days to our stay. We loved being there.

We came for a dance festival and the place felt magical. It's a shame we couldn't try all the activities on offer, but we were so grateful for the little bit of snow.

We tried archery and accrobranche, and both were good. The restaurant was okay, though not cheap. The treehouse was lovely, but very expensive for what it was, so it didn't feel like good value. And the wedding music on site kept us awake on the first night. Breakfast costs extra and is brought to you. Each person got one croissant, one pain au chocolat, and a little bread, with jam, juice, milk, coffee, and hot chocolate in the house. I would have liked more choice, including some cereal. It's a great place if you're bringing children, though the mini golf is a bit naff.

The kids enjoyed seeing the animals at Defiplanet theme park, and the elf stories were cute. They all had English audio. We spent two hours there, which was okay if you have time, but it wasn't spectacular and felt a bit pricey at 16.50/adult and 9.50/child. Given what you get, 12 and 6 would be more appropriate prices. There were lots of activities on site for the kids. I wish we'd arrived earlier so they could have tried the afternoon ropes course and gone swimming. Our treehouse stay was fun and different, with a bathroom and kitchen that had plumbing, and the heaters worked perfectly. I'd give the accommodations four stars, but this really shouldn't be marketed as a four-star hotel. It felt like a three-star experience, which isn't a bad thing. It just needs the right rating, since the quality wasn't four-star, even though we enjoyed staying in the treehouse.
