The rooms were clean and tidy, and the location was quiet, close to the main road, and not bad. It’s an older building, so there’s no air conditioning, and all the steps could be a problem for people with mobility issues. With temperatures rising, some sort of can in the room might be appropriate.

For a budget place, the breakfast buffet was more extensive than I expected, though I couldn’t find any cereal spoons. The location was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. We’d booked for a simple stay after arriving late on the ferry, but the hotel was a little hard to find and the surroundings looked rather shabby. The Tesla supercharger was an unexpected bonus. The room felt cramped on one side of the bed and had few electrical outlets. It didn’t smell fresh, as if it hadn’t been aired properly. There seemed to be no way to ventilate it without leaving the ground-floor window wide open and risking intruders overnight. It was clearly a budget hotel.

The reception lady told us it would take 45min to reach the ferry terminal because the bridge was under construction. Our navigation system said 11min. The hotel is far below IBIS Standards, more like an IBIS Budget than an IBIS Hotel. The rooms are tiny and low budget, and, most importantly, they were smoking rooms instead of the usual non-smoking rooms. I know hotels near a ferry station normally cost more, but this place was much too expensive for the service provided. Never again.

My room was very comfortable, with a bed that swallowed me up until morning, and breakfast was delicious, with fresh products and lots of choice. Staff were really friendly and professional. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track if you want a few drinks in town, and there aren’t many taxis midweek. Good price, good service, and a good night’s sleep.
