Les Chalets de Saint Maurice (Dieulefit)

The view from the estate is fantastic, and it’s a great base for exploring the region with family. We enjoyed relaxing by the lovely pool, using the pétanque court, and sitting on the delightful terrace. The new chalets are fully equipped, and Eric and Fannie were very hospitable during our five-day stay. Highly recommended, and thanks for a wonderful visit!

The chalets are modern and practical, and we felt very comfortable in ours. There aren’t many of them, so it doesn’t have a campground feel. The terrace was lovely late in the evening, and deer sometimes come through the garden. It’s a beautiful natural setting, good for hiking, with a large pool and a magnificent view. The village is close, while the road is quite far from the chalets and sees very little traffic. The owners are generous and friendly, and the atmosphere is really convivial. I highly recommend it. That’s my little story, though I could keep going.

We can’t wait to return to Chalets de St Maurice. The grounds are lovely for hiking, and the village is close by if you want to go for a drink. The large pool has a stunning mountain view, and the terrace is especially pleasant in the late evening. Our accommodation was clean, well laid out, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities we needed. The place is peaceful and very pleasant. Eric and Fanie were warm, smiling, and generous, always available and attentive while still being discreet. The atmosphere was so friendly. Thanks so much, Eric and Fanie, for a wonderful holiday!

The walk to the village is quite long, and the Wi-Fi didn’t reach the rooms, despite being advertised in the rental. The place was fine, and the owner was friendly, but money came up too often. I found the services insufficient for the price, especially after staying at other places fairly nearby that offered much better value. For instance, sheets cost €25, with another €50 to have the bed made. The owner also charged me €0.60 to charge my electric car, even though the charging stations charge €0.45 and he pays only about €0.25.
