Hotel du Parc de la Colombière

The location is the one thing going for this place, so it gets one star from me. I won't be back. We arrived for a late check-in at 9:30 PM, and I think that annoyed the staff. They treated us arrogantly and disrespectfully. At dinner, our table of three adults and a baby waited half an hour for three portions of fries, a salad, and snails. Then it took another 20 minutes to get mayonnaise, which was dropped aggressively on the table corner without a word. After we'd finished eating, we waited 30 more minutes before someone asked if we wanted anything else. We were so fed up, along with our child, that we skipped dessert and coffee. My wife also left a small bag of brand-new bikinis behind at checkout. I called the next day, and they said they'd look into it, but it took two days for them to tell me they hadn't found anything and that she'd probably lost it somewhere else. This was the only hotel we stayed at, so that seemed unlikely. Relatives I spoke with had the same impression of the place. They make you beg for things that should be routine and don't seem to care about guests. We even had to cut our own birthday cake at the restaurant, despite ordering it there for a party of 20.

The nearby park was quiet and relaxing in late autumn. The hotel itself was very nice, with friendly, professional staff and a restaurant serving delicious food.

The rooms were clean, the service was good, and the people were great. It's in a posh part of Dijon, next to the city's nicest park. Really good value for the price.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, and a location that worked perfectly for me. A really good hotel.
