Mercure Dijon Centre Clemenceau

I’ve stayed here three times and already plan to book again. The rooms are really nice and breakfast is great. We often travel with our bikes, so the secure underground parking is fantastic, and it’s only a short, flat walk into central Dijon.

Our suite was spacious and had a fantastic, modern bathroom with a great shower. Most of the room was clean, though there was some dust here and there. The coffee machine supplies were disappointing compared with other hotels: we only had decaf pods and little milk. Staff tried to find more when we asked, but again most of what they found was decaf, with only a couple of milks. The hotel is beside a public transport station, though we used Uber for most trips into the centre. We enjoyed taking the owl trail with the kids to see the main sights. There’s a large underground car park.

The staff in reception and the Resturant muttered under their breath after we exposed what was happening and talked with them. They were extremely rude and impolite, and blatant liars who could look us in the eye while lying to make things easier for themselves. Only after we proved them wrong did they tell the truth. Mercure Dijon has badly damaged the good reputation the Mercure chain has built. It was an utter disgrace for the hospitality industry and an experience that put me off the beautiful and fine country of France.

The underground car park has quirky graphics with a Star Wars theme, which I loved. It’s secure parking, and the hotel also has excellent, large, spacious rooms and a great dining area. A very smart chain hotel, though breakfast is a bit pricey.
