Bike storage in the courtyard is secure, which is a great extra. Even when the restaurant is packed, service stays friendly and personal. Their motto is “We love people.” The family and staff are super friendly, and the chef and waitstaff are fantastic. The food and buffet are top-notch. Try the appetizer buffet. There was red tuna, prawns, homemade rillettes, and almost every dish costs €15. Great value for money, and the best hotel and restaurant between Frankfurt and Paris!

The nice woman at reception and our waiter were friendly, and breakfast was plentiful. Still, after our third visit, both the hotel and restaurant feel as if they've gone downhill. Prices have risen. A 500 ml beer is €9, and the buffet isn't what it used to be. My beef in light sauce, ordered medium, seemed to be a roast cut with long fibers. I hated sending nearly all of it back because it was inedible. When I said it seemed the wrong cut for quick frying, I got a shrug. The appetizers were a mixed lot, from pickles to cold shrimp and salmon pieces. The desserts were all mousses in different colors, some tasting artificial. The rooms haven't been worked on. There was black grout, stains on freshly laundered bed linen, and building materials lying around in the courtyard.

The staff all gave excellent service, and the prices are reasonable. The daily special was quite good, though the set menus seemed aimed at people used to eating exotic vegetables. The restaurant is inside the hotel.

We had booked seven meals, but the appetizer buffet had no choice. We had to ask several times for bread and wine, the service was deplorable, and all the desserts tasted artificial, nothing seemed homemade. Then the waitress got the bill wrong. Disappointing, and we won't return.
