We only visited for Sunday lunch at the grill, so this is about the restaurant, not the hotel. The hotel seemed well placed for seeing town if you have a car. The grill was packed with French diners, and I think we may have been the only ones who weren't French. We booked on Saturday morning and felt lucky to get a table. The staff were friendly and efficient. Tables had plenty of space between them, though the room still felt intimate. The food was good, with quality ingredients cooked well, the kind of food I'd call real food. We both had starters. My husband really enjoyed his grilled fish, and my rare steak arrived just as requested, smoky and crisp outside, rare in the middle. My cheese was runny, and his tarttin was the best ever.

The chips were good quality and cooked well, but the steak and chips came with nothing else, not even salad. Friends ordered chicken fricassee, a small chicken leg in sauce that didn't look very appetising. The food overall was basic and poorly presented. We ate at the grill on Saturday evening and got a table without booking. The German ale on tap was very bitter. I'll have to think twice about coming back.
I can't comment on the hotel since I never stayed there. Le grill wasn't a pleasant place to eat. The food was mediocre and sometimes arrived cold, and the older waitress was foul and rudely unpleasant to customers and younger staff alike. The dining room felt run down, and although there's a beautiful garden, there was no outdoor dining. The whole place gave me the feeling of eating in an old people's home.
The food was tasty and generous, and the staff were lovely, cheerful and efficient. There are lots of tables in a pretty large space, plus a beautiful garden behind it. Our first visit to Le Grill left us very impressed.
The town is quiet on Sundays, and I loved the way that made me think about how sacred the Sabbath is to many people. I adored both the town and this hotel. It was a delightful find: super clean, modern and comfortable, a perfect choice for the area.
