The whole experience was awful. We couldn't check in until 5:30, and the woman I spoke with seemed to have had quite a bit to drink. Even with Google Translate, she couldn't understand anything. We didn't feel welcome, and this place is absolutely not recommended. We'd already paid through Booking.com, but when a problem came up, they said we had to sort it out with the hotel. We booked through them, so we expected them to take responsibility. Booking.com offered no help at all, and they need to check the hotels they list more carefully. A really bad situation. Never again.

Breakfast was good, and sharing it with the other guests made for a nice chance to chat and exchange impressions. The room was spotless and well equipped, and the host greeted us warmly and very courteously. We were in the Luberon to visit our children and stayed just one night. We'd gladly come back. The Bamboo room was spotless and had its own separate toilet, which you don't often find. We also had a little terrace to relax on, plus a kettle and tea. Dinner was delicious, breakfast came with homemade jams, and we slept peacefully. A lovely place with a really warm welcome. Donzère is also close to some nice places to visit. The location is ideal, but the service and welcome were disastrous, and the cleanliness of the rooms left a lot to be desired. We stayed two nights at the same price each night, but the beds weren't made in between and the welcome tray wasn't replenished. It had two teas and one piece of nougat, as a little coffee treat. Breakfast was poor. On the first morning, the croissants and bread seemed to have been bought at the local supermarket several days earlier, judging by their condition. The jam had no label and was awful, and the coffee was rationed. The following morning there was only sliced bread and Congolese bread, which didn't seem very local. The hostess rudely said, "You were at a wedding, so I went easy on you." Was the price any lower? She also told us bluntly, "We should hurry up and leave because we're expected today." Guest rooms should be about discovery and sharing, not JUST A CASH MACHINE...
