Ty Mad

The restaurant here was wonderful, and the dark skies made for great stargazing. It's also a handy base for seeing some of Brittany's beautiful coastline. The room and bathroom were both on the small side. If you're sharing with a friend, be aware there's a window into the shower. We had to ask for another towel, and the room came with just one loo roll. Those are minor things, though, and I'd stay again.

The view from our room was fantastic, and the hotel's look and feel really stood out. The owners have put a lot of care into the interior, and the location is lovely, with two beaches very close by. We'd heard Ty Mad recommended several times and had really looked forward to staying. Still, the little inconveniences added up. Our small room was tiny, with a short, narrow bed, barely any space for luggage, and nowhere to dry swimsuits or towels. The garden is lovely, but there's no service there, so for a coffee or drink you have to go inside and knock at the kitchen. The sauna was nice to have, though there's nowhere to relax afterward. Dinner was good, but we've had similar menus in Bretagne for less. It could also be hard to get the waiters' attention.

The staff were the highlight, so attentive, helpful, and dedicated, and the restaurant is well worth a visit. It's a nice little hotel, what people these days might call a boutique hotel. Just so you know, children aren't allowed, but dogs are. We couldn't make much use of the garden because of the weather, which was a shame since it looks lovely. The rooms could be a bit bigger, but you don't spend a whole two-week holiday in the room anyway, so that was fine.

We stayed one night with our dog, and the receptionist, who may have been the owner, was very friendly and even moved us to a larger room. The rooms are lovely and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious, though a hot option would have been a nice addition. They were so welcoming to dogs that ours could come along to breakfast too.
