Bruneval House

Free parking, a shared kitchen and bathroom, and a room that's an okay size. It's a cheap and cheerful place in a traditional old French house. Bring your own toilet roll.

It's a good price for students. The guest house has eight rooms, two toilets, and two bathrooms. Some people stay there for nearly a year, while others are only there for a night or two. The rooms are fairly large, and the kitchen is comfortable with lots of useful equipment, though the coffee machine doesn't work. There are no towels, shampoo, or shower gel.

The place is about 20 minutes from both the centre and the beach, but the buses in Dunkirk are all free, so keep that in mind. The shared bathroom was clean, pleasant, and sunny. Inside, the room was great and the bed was big, though better pillows would have been nice. There's a lovely garden to sit in during summer, and the kitchen has all the amenities. A really homely place to stay in Dunkirk. Highly recommended!

The facilities are basic, but there are cafes and restaurants close by, and it's good value. Our room was simple, well set up, and very quiet. We also loved the garden at the back, where they kindly let us leave our bikes. I'd recommend staying here.
