I picked this place because dogs are allowed, though there’s an extra 7-9€/day charge. The rooms are dated and the WiFi was awful. Sound carried between rooms, which left my dog a bit on edge, and the window seals let in a draft. The window hardware was broken too, so I could only open it fully, not just at the top. Breakfast costs another 10€/day. There was a decent selection, but, like much of Dunkirk, no obvious vegetarian or vegan alternatives.

We found the hotel and the area quiet and peaceful, and could easily walk into town, or get around even more easily by bike. The front desk was welcoming and very helpful. The dining room was large, bright and airy, and breakfast was ok. The rooms were clean, presentable and everything worked. The furnishings are ageing but still in good order. Parking was ok, although sometimes hard to find a space. I think people from the public were using the hotel parking during the workday. It was good value, and I’d recommend staying here. I’d come back.

The location was great and it’s cheap, but the rooms were very dated and smelled bad. I felt like I was in a prison cell. The bathrooms were for disabled people. The lifts somehow stopped working at night, though the staff helped carry our suitcases up two flights of stairs. It came across as tacky.

After a long journey we arrived and there weren’t any seats. The biggest disappointment was the man at reception, who wouldn’t let a pregnant woman use the toilet.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, parking was convenient, and the staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good, and I liked seeing that they support local artists by selling paintings right there. I mostly enjoyed relaxing during my stay, despite a few issues, and would recommend the hotel. The Wi-Fi didn’t work properly in my room, which was the last one on the floor, so I think that may be why. A suggestion for management: sockets by the bed would be handy. The rooms could also use deep cleaning more often, especially the windowsills and carpet stains. If time is an issue, they could block rooms for a weekday at a time to keep everything in better shape.
