Brigitte is a larger-than-life hostess, and the hospitality felt genuine. We were made to feel welcome and had plenty of laughs. Next time we’ll speak better French. Cowbells in the evening make a marvelous soundtrack, and the food is sensational, as good as or better than five-star restaurants. Loosen your belt and enjoy.

A disgrace. Avoid at all costs! I called on December 26th to book a New Year’s Eve meal for four after seeing the menu on their Facebook page. The manager said she was busy and told me to call back later, in a very unpleasant and incredibly rude manner. When I contacted her again on December 30th, the day before I was due to arrive, she was just as unpleasant. She brushed me off, told me to check the Facebook menu to confirm my choice, and asked me to email the next morning. I did. My email clearly said I had a reservation for 8:50 am that day. I arrived in Gourette at 10:00 am and found an email asking for my credit card details. I called to provide them, and she was extremely unpleasant again. She said she didn’t trust me and didn’t want me to have a table that evening. “This isn’t a New Year’s Eve party,” she said, then hung up on me twice. I suppose she mistook me for family! That behavior is outrageous. How dare you speak to me that way? I’m shocked. Poor France!
