Camping des Nières

Our pitch had a hedge between us and the neighbours and sat right beside the river. The village is a pleasant ten minute walk away, where we had time to try the very tasty tea room and boulangerie. We only stayed one night, unfortunately, right at the end of the season. The French woman at the office was very friendly and spoke excellent English.

The staff were really welcoming and friendly, and the campsite has lovely facilities, including a restaurant. It’s in a lovely spot beside the Sioule.

The owners are welcoming and happy to help if anything comes up. The site is well run and close to the motorway, so it gets plenty of two or three night stays. The facilities are dated, but they’re well maintained, serviced, and cleaned regularly.

Ebreuil has a quaint, interesting feel, with two good boulangeries, a boucherie/épicerie, and a fairly large village Spar shop. The staff in the shops were friendly, and we also enjoyed the village pizzeria. There’s a restaurant too, though we didn’t try it. We meant to stop for just one night while travelling south from the north of France, but stayed three. It’s a great stopover spot. We were there in our six meter motorhome near the end of the 2022 season. The site was quiet, and the pitch we got was absolutely fine. We felt we could have asked to move if we hadn’t liked it. The campsite is right on the riverbank, and as far as we could tell, the pitches are level and a decent size. The village roads leading to the site might feel tight in a large vehicle, so it’s worth planning the route ahead.
