Hôtel Acqua Dolce

At €110 a night, we were put in a windowless room that felt like a prison cell. The place looked nothing like its photos on a well-known booking site, and I can't understand the positive ratings. We left straight away and found somewhere else, so I can't comment on the restaurant or service. There are better options at this price, much closer to the city.

We had little choice but to take the shabby room for €200 a night, without breakfast, since we were traveling with another couple. We were three, two adults and a child, and had emailed to reserve at around €150 per night, but when we arrived at the start of July, the hotel said it had no record of the booking and only one room left. It's convenient for Ajaccio airport, which is why so many people stay there for a night, but the place has no charm and seems neglected and poorly maintained. The pool is the one pleasant spot, though you'd better bring a net to remove the roughly 50 bees bathing there. Don't expect staff to take care of that. For our room, a fair rate would be €80-110, certainly not the €200 we paid. There are much better places nearby.

The landlord was really friendly, and I'd happily recommend the place to family and friends. Our room was lovely, tastefully done, very clean, and spacious, with a really comfortable double bed.

The washing machine ruined my clothes, and when I tried to pay for it by card, the receptionist shouted at me, saying he would lose out. There's fungus on the walls and in the air conditioning, and the sewerage was blocked. Only a select few can use the pool, because apparently a drunk person bathed in their clothes and caused a problem. To me, that's racism and discrimination. Worst hotel in Corsica. I don't recommend it and will never come back.
