We spent our time exploring the castles at Vaux-le-Vicomte and Fontainebleau, medieval Provins, villages like Barbizon and Moret-sur-Loing, and the Fontainebleau forest. There’s enough nearby to fill several days, maybe even a week, despite the property feeling far out in the middle of nowhere. That remoteness is a real plus if you want space away from city life. We stayed in Delta, where the mattress was top quality and the house felt very well built. It’s wonderfully quiet and private, looking out only onto its own pond, wide fields, and forests. Jeff and his parents have done a great job creating the place, and they’re warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. They made us feel like part of the family. Jeff also cooked dinner for us one evening, which we really enjoyed. Internet is the one thing to keep in mind. Cell service is barely there, and the WiFi is limited too, since there’s no fiber or ADSL.
