Le Moulin d'eclaron

My husband and I spent four wonderful days here and left feeling completely relaxed. The location is beautiful, and we slept so well. The bed and breakfast was lovely, and the owners were a really friendly couple who gave us great tips for walks nearby. Lake Der is magnificent. We’d gladly come back.

The rooms are very poorly soundproofed, so you can hear everything. The worst part was a toilet in the next room that kept running loudly from 1:40 a.m. until 2:40 a.m., making sleep impossible. In the morning there was no water, so we couldn’t shower, wash, or use the toilet. I left a note about all this, but got no call or apology. At 97 euros a room, that was pathetic. Contrary to the other reviews, I’d say stay away from this place run by a lunatic!!!!!

The owner was very friendly, and the bathrooms were clean, but unpleasant smells put us off staying. The place is outdated and needs renovation, and routine upkeep leaves a lot to be desired. There’s no spa or other services, despite what’s advertised. It seems they don’t have the resources to renovate. It’s a shame.

We had a pleasant welcome and the location was very quiet. Still, the building is very old, apart from the bedroom, and had an unpleasant musty smell. We thought the weekend price was high, especially with the jacuzzi closed. Some amenities listed on Booking.com are actually at Lac du Der rather than on site, so bear that in mind.
