Premiere Classe Besancon - Ecole Valentin

We arrived for check-in, which starts at 15:30, and used the kiosk. Although we’d paid online when booking, we were charged again. After getting a room key, we went to the room and found people lying in the bed. Reception wasn’t there, so we called the “service number.” The man on the phone said to wait 1 1/2 hour until reception staff arrived. We left without getting a room and are still struggling to get a refund. We paid twice and found strangers already in the room. A really bad experience.

The parking was a bit chaotic when I arrived in the middle of the night, with almost no room to squeeze in, but I managed. This was my third stop after the others were fully booked. The receptionist was nice and spoke English. My room was clean and did what I needed. Breakfast was simple, but only sweet options. The decorations were charming, and so was the woman who worked there.

The location was very noisy and felt unsafe, and the breakfast was laughable, nearly enough to bring me to tears. My room smelled awful. The lamps were blown, the pillows were tiny, and the bathroom was like something on a budget airline, with parts falling apart in my hands. The receptionist was rude. It wasn’t a pleasant stay at all. I can’t rate this place low enough; steer clear, a camper would be more comfortable.

If you have no expectations, it’s quite good. Otherwise, pay a few euros more and choose a 3 or 4 star place. Reception doesn’t speak English, and card payment only works partially, with no NFC, which is a no-go.
