We only stayed one night, and I’m so glad to be leaving today. The smell from the toilet and shower was so bad it was unbearable.

The hotel is in the old town, which made it easy to wander around and do some nice shopping. It’s set on a quaint square with restaurants around, and there was even a local market in the morning. Our room was excellent, with shuttered windows looking out onto the square.

Embruns is a lovely little medieval bourgade, or big village, with very old, typical buildings. The hotel sits in the heart of town, in a beautiful square next to city hall, though it wasn’t easy to find at first. It’s a nice, comfortable and welcoming place, with small but comfy rooms, helpful and friendly staff, and a good internet connection. The one inconvenience is that some rooms can be noisy, depending on which one you get.
