Hotel - Restaurant Crystal

We stayed four days and found the location great for visiting Europapark, though you’ll need a car. Erstein is a bit away from the hotel, but the city center is walkable in about 30 minutes. Our room was clean, and the bathroom looked recently renovated. Staff were friendly. Breakfast had enough choice to keep us from getting bored over a few days, even if it wasn’t extensive. At around 50 euro per person per night, it was more than worth the price.

I stay here often for work, but the hotel’s quality has dropped a lot. The restaurant has gone downhill too, though my main issue is the hotel itself. The rooms are cold, partly because they turn off the heating during the day to save money. The old A/C units are extremely noisy and keep switching off, so you can’t use them at night. I arrived at 7pm to a room so cold I couldn’t shower. I’ll give them one more chance, then it’s goodbye, Crystal. If things improve, I’ll change my review.

I usually book here for business trips in Alsace. Breakfast is served from 7h to 10h, but I tried to eat at 6h50 because I had a flight and was told no, even though all the tables were ready. My taxi was waiting, so I left without breakfast, which I’d paid for with my room. Never again!

The room and bathroom were clean, and the hotel was good. The wifi was practically useless, though, probably because my room was at the end of the hallway, too far from the hotspot.
