Maison Tranquil

Anya and Axel were so friendly and helpful, and quick to respond, while still giving us plenty of space. We’d just spent ten glorious days at Maison Tranquil with 14 people from three families, and it was one of the most comfortable, best equipped places we’ve stayed in France. The bedrooms were really comfortable, and there was lots of room to sit outside in the shade. The pool was a lovely way to cool off, and the kitchen was a joy to cook in, with everything we needed and good quality, sharp knives. A resounding hit!

The lake views from the lovely pool were a real pleasure, and the outdoor dining area was great too. We had a really pleasant family stay in this large house. The kitchen is spacious, and most of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms.

The quiet setting makes Maison Tranquil a great base for my birdwatching holidays. There’s interesting wildlife around the lake, in the woods and across the countryside, and Carcassonne is easy to reach for history, along with several vineyards for wine tasting and plenty more. This was our fourth stay, and we enjoy it more each time. My wife Wendy cooks for our group and loves the spacious, well equipped kitchen. The house has lots of places to unwind, and we like talking over the day’s activities on the covered patio with a glass of wine. The heated outdoor pool is a lovely extra. We already have a full group booked to come back in 2024 and are discussing dates for 2025. We can’t get enough of Maison Tranquil and this lovely part of Southern France. We loved sitting on the sunny terraces and taking in the views across the lake, while the children had a great time in the private pool and play park. The house feels homely, clearly renovated with a lot of love and care. That huge handcrafted wooden dining table was a particular favorite, and we shared many evening meals around it. There’s loads of space for family time or to find a quiet corner, and the house is superbly equipped for whatever you need. A magical, peaceful place to reconnect with family and friends. We both also had a wonderful massage from our talented host Andrea, which helped us settle into the surroundings. Mark and Andrea have made a beautiful home from home, and I can’t recommend it highly enough for a stay with family or friends.
