Casa Turrigiani

We rented this villa for two weeks in August 2017 and came away very disappointed. At €5,000 a week in July or August, we'd look elsewhere. Other villas in the same development have much better amenities and the same views. The bathrooms are very small, dark and damp, with no windows. There are only two toilets for a house advertised for ten people, something the website doesn't mention. The villa is also close to another one, about 30 meters away at most, so neighbors can see and hear you at lunch or while you're in the pool. It was poorly equipped. Some kitchen utensils were dirty from the previous rental, and other essentials were missing. There were no bedroom curtains, no stereo, not even a basic one for connecting a phone, and no bathroom towel rail. Both umbrellas were broken, and the clothes horse wasn't enough for ten people, though it might suit a couple with children. The website says spare sheets are provided, but none were there. We contacted the owner and were told sheets would be brought, yet nobody came during our two-week stay despite our reminders. The pool lights were already broken when we arrived. The owner hadn't mentioned this, and we found out on our first evening. Our calls went unanswered. The owner eventually texted that there was nothing he could do and that it was a minor issue. The lights weren't repaired, and there was no apology. We also thought the €4,500 deposit was completely unreasonable given the equipment, whose total value surely doesn't even reach that amount. We'll find better accommodation next year.

Sagone Bay looks stunning from this superb villa. It's clean, peaceful and in a very quiet spot. The owner is easy to reach and accommodating. I recommend staying here without hesitation.

The welcome was so warm, and we really appreciated all the suggestions for places to see and walks to take. The house is very well equipped, with nothing missing, and its location comes with a breathtaking view. We just got back from a fantastic week and hope we can return soon!
