The view from the bedrooms is extraordinary, and the gîte is less than a 15-minute walk from the center of Le Puy-en-Velay, a beautiful city with lots to visit. The setting and house are wonderful, with good amenities, cleanliness, comfortable bedding, and a pool. André is kind and attentive to his guests’ well-being. We had a peaceful, very pleasant stay. Many thanks to André and Sophie for the warm welcome and thoughtful touches. We’ll definitely return. See you soon, Alexandrine and Paolo.

At €110 a night, this was simply unacceptable. During our three-day stay, the building seemed poorly maintained, and the rooms smelled damp and of dog. They’re outdated, and rooms 1, 2, and 3 share toilets on the landing. Room 1 had a poor bed, and the plexiglass shower was narrow and unsightly. Breakfast was just two slices of white bread and a small industrial brioche, with no bread or pastries beyond that. There was no table set, tablecloth, or placemats, and you have to do everything yourself. It’s a shame, since the grounds and pool are pleasant, and the center of Le Puy is a 15-minute walk away.

André, the manager, is so kind and attentive, while staying discreet and available. He deserves credit for keeping such a beautiful home. We’ll definitely come back.

There was no wardrobe, and the dressers that were there were crammed with all sorts of other things. The room itself was partitioned off in an old chapel behind the garage, with no window, so it felt incredibly musty.

The setting is very pleasant, and the owner was there, serious and available. Such a warm welcome, too. Dinner was perfect, all homemade, and breakfast was hearty. Friendly place, I recommend it.
