Paul and Marlene gave us such a warm VIP welcome, and our room was superb and very comfortable. Thank you both for your kindness. Irazabala is a magnificent base for exploring the Basque Country.

The peaceful hillside setting above Espelette, the lovely rooms and the pool overlooking Artzamendi already make Irazabala feel like a little corner of paradise. Breakfast was generous and all-you-can-eat, with local produce and vegetables from the garden. It's a traditional house, but what makes the stay truly timeless is the rare host who makes you feel at home right away. We wish we'd never found Irazabala, or Paul, because now we'll hesitate over every holiday destination. Thanks for a wonderful memory, and see you soon.

After only three days, we already felt at home, thanks to how friendly Paul is and how quickly he put us at ease. The view, comfortable rooms, locally sourced breakfast and thoughtful extras, like the self-service coffee pods, made this stay magical. We're already dreaming about coming back to this natural paradise!
