We really appreciated Pierre's kindness and hospitality, and it was lovely meeting him. The pool was a nice extra, too. The renovated building sits among olive trees in the heart of the garrigue, making for a peaceful stay and a real change of scenery.

The house is rustic, but comfortable, and nature is all around you. There are olive trees over a century old, spring water, and plenty of Provençal sunshine. The owner is jovial, too. It's three kilometers from the village of Estoublon, at the end of a stony path. This is the last inhabited building before Saint-Jurs, another hilltop village much farther away. The road nearby is quiet, with very little traffic. With the windows open, we slept peacefully, with only the occasional bray from the friendly donkey nearby to break the silence.
