Breakfast was delicious, with fresh bread and cheese, and we could cook our own eggs, which was so nice. Our room at Greet Hotel Evreux was very clean, and the desk lady was friendly and helpful. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy. We stayed only three nights, but thank you, it won't be our last visit 🥰

The room was okay for one night, but that's about it. Check-in felt indifferent, with the receptionist finishing on her computer, head down, and no welcome. On Saturday night the bar wasn't open. I sat in reception, where an old banana skin had been on the shelf for at least a day.

It's easy to get to plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs from here. The Cathedral, Town Hall, theatre and shopping and commercial centre are all within a comfortable walk too. This is a pleasant budget style hotel. The rooms are small but clean, with bright colors, and some look out toward the Cathedral. Downstairs, the restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and is also good for a drink. The foyer has a couple of cozy seating areas.

You can get a great view of the cathedral from a room at the back, and the bicycle theme gives the hotel quirky decor. But it feels more shabby than chic. There's no plug for the bathroom basin, the cupboard door won't stay shut and hits you in the face, and only the handheld shower works, not the overhead one. Secure bike parking costs an extra 5 euros, and breakfast is 12 euros extra. The person checking guests in wasn't very helpful when we visited.

Private secure parking is a real boon. The restaurant and bar were closed, as were most places in town on Sunday evening, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The manager was polite and attentive, and breakfast was decent value at Euro 6. The interior and exterior both have a slightly quirky feel, but it's a really nice place.
