We wouldn’t have booked if we’d known there was no air conditioning, since that wasn’t disclosed. At over $200 a night, we expected AC. It was hot, and opening the windows let bugs into the room, which made the stay pretty miserable. We asked the owner to refund part of the cost so we could move elsewhere, but they refused. There wasn’t a mini fridge either. Getting into the room meant lifting our suitcases over our heads to get them up a very small staircase. The gate remote also failed about half the time, and sometimes took five tries. Lots of frustration. We’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels and never encountered one without AC.

After seven hours on the road through storms and rain, Koffeo and Richard welcomed us with a glass of wine and a charcuterie and cheese platter in their lovely garden. It took the stress right out of the journey. Our apartment was spotless, thoughtfully equipped, and just right for us. Breakfast was delicious too. Highly recommend, and thank you!

We came for quality time with friends, hoping to switch off, relax, have fun, and enjoy each other’s company, and that’s exactly what we did. We made use of every amenity, and the breakfast was phenomenal. Marquise Barbot is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Paris, with plenty to offer whether you’re on your own, with family, or with friends. I’ll definitely be back. This is a lovely, elegant and refined bed and breakfast, with incredibly comfortable beds and pillows that felt like 5-star standard. The hosts were kind, helpful, and available to guests. A real treasure of a place.
