Auberge de l'Arc en Ciel

We were after a quiet couple of days, and it suited us well. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and our room was clean with a large bathroom, though there was no TV. The menu is limited but interesting, with three choices each for starters, mains, and desserts, plus a daily special. Everything is cooked to order. There’s a separate bar with good beer, a dedicated car park, and garden space outside. The traditional building has stone stairs up to the rooms, so it won’t work for anyone with mobility problems. It’s easy to reach local attractions, and the coast is only an hour away. A really good choice for a quiet, simple weekend or short stay, whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple, or with children.

We stayed in the nearby B&B because this place was full, and the host there was incredible. It felt like staying with friends, sharing the local home and getting such a personal welcome. The place itself was lovely too, with a warm welcome, great service, and incredible food. Highly recommended!

We used this as a stopover before heading home via Calais, and would definitely stay again. The rooms were really clean and thoughtfully arranged, with plenty of parking around the back and a supermarket across the main road. The exterior is a little misleading, because inside it’s warm and friendly, with amazing à la carte food. They were happy to cater for children too. The food deserves a Michelin star! Thank you for a wonderful stay and for being such a perfect host. We’d like to explore the area next time.

I’ve been to the restaurant several times, and the food and service have been excellent every time. I’d recommend it for a special occasion, or whenever you feel like having a really nice meal.
