The food was a real highlight. We had the menu of the day, and it was well cooked on the outdoor Plancha. The owner was grilling plenty of steaks there, and my homemade Greengage (Reine Claude) Tart was delicious. Getting there at lunchtime was awkward because road closures made the approach difficult. We only wanted to know where to park, but the owner (?) launched into a lot of complaints about the closures. After a few minutes he settled down and told us about a carpark 150m away, which worked perfectly. The terrasse was lovely, with diners under pale mauve umbrellas. A simple roadside sign with a blue 'P' and an arrow to the carpark 150m away would help drivers who can't find a space. After that rocky start, we enjoyed the visit and felt more welcome. We didn't see the rooms at the Auberge. Recommended.
