Grand Hôtel L'Ermitage

We've returned for dinner, and the menu had shifted slightly with the season to make the most of fresh ingredients. The staff were as friendly, helpful, and professional as before, and the food was exceptional. The rooms are all different, gorgeous and comfortable, with a thoughtful mix of the building's original character and modern style. And do eat at the restaurant if you stay. The tasting menu is incredible. Each course tops the one before it, right from the first little bite. The food made me rethink everything I'd eaten before. I won't just suggest coming if you're nearby. It's worth travelling to the area for this place.

Grand Hotel Ermitage is a peaceful, magical place to unwind after a day in the mountains. The cozy atmosphere and great location go along with beautiful snowy views from the window. Font-Romeu feels like a true winter wonderland here, and the hotel has a warm, timeless feel.

Lovely, charming rooms and a delicious breakfast. It's also in a very nice spot, right by the ski slopes, closer than any other hotel.

It's a beautiful, warm hotel, with gorgeous rooms that feel just right for the mountains. We'd love to come back, but a few things could be better. Our front desk service was good. In the restaurant, though, service could use more training and a clearer routine, perhaps because the hotel had only recently opened. One evening around 19:45, we nearly left when a group of about seven Ski Instructors were drinking and laughing loudly on the couches in the back corner. The noise made the restaurant really unpleasant. Someone should have asked them to quiet down or leave, and acoustic panels would help too. Once they left around 20:00, things were fine. Breakfast was uneven. There were no scrambled eggs the first morning, though there were some the next day. There was never milk or Oat Milk by the cereal, so I had to ask each time for myself or the kids. The girl there was nice, but seemed to spend much of her time on her phone, tucked away in the kitchen. We only found out on day two that fresh orange juice was available if requested. The wifi barely worked in our room, 211.
