The staff at reception and in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. The hotel was in good condition, and although our room was small, it was convenient. Dinner and breakfast were good too. The problem was the temperature. In January our room was so warm that we could hardly breathe while sleeping. Other people in our group felt the same.
We booked directly on the hotel website three weeks ahead and got a confirmation, then another four days before we were due to arrive. On the day itself, with no warning at all, the hotel did not honor the booking. They never contacted us, offered no alternative place to stay, and gave us no notice. Edit 24/09: The hotel now says it told me about the closure, but that never happened. I received no email, text, or phone call. The whole thing was appalling and utterly unprofessional. Stay away.
The evening meal was the only disappointing part.
A lovely hotel.
