I’ve been here more than two months with my husband and child, and I like everything a lot. I had a lovely time. A gentleman would check in on me now and then, and whenever I needed anything I could ask him. He was very nice. Thank you.

I was drawn to La Carpe D'Or Hotel because it’s centrally located, within walking distance of Fontainebleau Palace and the quaint little city. Check-in went smoothly, but check-out became a nightmare. I didn’t ask about the departure time when I arrived. It turned out to be 10am, earlier than anything I can remember in 60 years of traveling to many countries. Apparently Alexandra, the General Manager and/or Owner, sent a man to my room to make sure we were leaving. He was rude, arrogant, and condescending. I asked if we could leave our luggage in the lobby for two hours, but he refused and locked the front door after we went out. With customer service this poor, I won’t come back for a second visit.

It’s a very simple hotel without many amenities, but the price was good and the location made it worthwhile. The chateau is one block away, with downtown shops and cafés two blocks away. I’d recommend it to anyone coming to Fontainebleau to see the Chateau.
