Apolline Martinique

The mansion is beautiful, and breakfast would be nice if the plates were more than almost clean each day. We had booked a junior suite with a garden view but got a room with no windows. After two nights in what felt like a nightmare, we were fortunate to be moved. The manager said our luggage would be transferred during the day, but that never happened. The “feel at home” idea seemed to mean doing everything ourselves, from carrying bags upstairs to moving breakfast place settings and fetching cushions for the lawn chairs. Staff often seemed annoyed when we entered their space, and whether they greeted us depended on their mood. Communication seemed focused on keeping the head of the household's day running smoothly, rather than on guest comfort. Staff interactions ranged from strange to unpleasant, and we found little hospitality. A very disappointing stay, and we wouldn't recommend it.

The view alone makes this place worth a visit. It's in a quiet, safe area, and the rooms are spacious. Breakfast was an excellent continental spread, and Lana was great at sorting out taxis and suggesting places to eat. Absolutely fabulous hotel. Thank you!

After two awful stays in Fort-de-France, a friend pointed us to Apolline, and we felt the difference as soon as we drove through its lovely old Caribbean style gardens. Philippe and Peter greeted us warmly and went out of their way to handle our requests. They made us feel like family right off, just what you'd hope for from a boutique hotel. The rooms were really comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. From the infinity pool, the view over the harbor and city is breathtaking. We'd definitely return to Martinique, if only to stay at Apolline again. X

Apolline sits in a beautiful spot overlooking the city, with good restaurants and activities only a short drive away. It feels peaceful, safe, and idyllic, and we can't wait to return on our next trip to Martinique. We stayed in the suite with a private pool, and it was seriously luxurious: an outdoor shower, a lounge area, a dining table, and more. Deborah welcomed us, showed us around, and explained what the property offered. Everyone we met was kind and quick to help, whether we needed something or wanted a recommendation. They even went the extra mile to help us track down a particular dish before we left Martinique. From arrival to our last hour there, my fiancé and I felt treated like royalty. Magical stay!
