Fort Savane

The name “Residence” suggests this is better for a longer stay, and the location was good. Our room was large and had a kitchen area, but I wouldn't recommend the place because too many things need attention. We were on the third floor, where the shower pressure was low and the water sometimes stopped altogether. We guessed someone on the second floor might have been using it too. The cheap two-ply toilet paper was awful. There were only three hangers in the closet, two wooden and one flimsy wire one, and the suitcase rack built into the desk was only big enough for a carry-on. A fold-up rack would be better. There was no breakfast. Some hotels without a restaurant still offer a basic spread of fruit, rolls, boiled eggs, cereal, and juice. Coffee and tea were in the room, but we expected more. The old, cheap TV had just 10 French-language channels and wasn't smart.

We came in early from our cruise, and they let us leave our bags until check-in was ready. The room was clean, the rate was fair, and the location works perfectly for cruise passengers. The toilet paper felt too cheap, which was my one complaint. I'd absolutely recommend the place.

The entrance is just okay, but the room, service, and location are awesome. Everything's close by, with loads of food, drinks, and shopping. Wow!

On arrival after a long morning of travel, there was nobody to let us into the locked property or store our bags, and no restroom we could use. We stood outside for an hour until a guest leaving let me in. No one was at reception when I reached the check-in area, and other guests needed help too. With nobody at the desk, there still wasn't anywhere to use the restroom. I also had a local call the number provided several times, but reception didn't show up for three hours. That's when we were finally checked in. I stayed only one night. At checkout, the manager's behavior was nasty. We were three minutes past checkout while I was making final preparations to leave, and she started banging on the door. As my mother and I headed to the elevator, five minutes past checkout, she made a slick remark. I couldn't believe the way she spoke to us. I left calmly, but the place is so unprofessional and disorganized that I won't return.
