The pool sits right in the middle of this old farm, with places around it to sit and have a drink. There’s a modest kitchenette too, with a microwave, a bread grill and a little fridge for keeping food cool. Le prieure has a real rustic feel, and sells produce from the area. Our room was plain but had a few comforts. The bathroom, with a bath, toilet and sink, was off the main room, which had three beds, two doubles and a single. They were all only 1.80m long, though, so the beds were too short even for my wife. At nearly 2m, I couldn’t fit in one even diagonally, so we shared a double. You’ll need a car to eat out or shop. There’s nowhere within walking distance, but a few kilometres’ drive should get you to somewhere to eat, and a shop about 5km away has food and drinks. There’s free Wi-Fi in the building, but the only spot is in the breakfast area. I couldn’t get the provided passcode to work, even with an IT degree, so I gave up and used mobile internet. Reception was very poor, especially inside behind the thick walls.
