Such a beautiful place, and the people there were even lovelier.

The owners made the evenings especially memorable. They welcomed us like family into the castle living room, shared homemade Calvados, and played music on a gramophone. We had the conversations about the country, its people, history, and culture that we’d hoped for. The owner is passionate about antique clocks and restores them himself. There are lovely examples throughout the castle, plus a small clock museum. We stayed at Chateau Pottery for three nights, from September 3rd to 6th. It’s a genuine castle over 100 years old, lovingly looked after, with original furniture and historically accurate decor. The garden and pond give the grounds an atmosphere from another era. Arriving by car felt rather regal, and parking is right at the castle. Our room had antique furnishings and original wall paintings, so it felt a bit like sleeping in a museum. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The castle is peaceful but well placed near the Normandy coast, with easy access to many attractions. We had a wonderful, distinctive stay and felt completely at ease. We’ll remember it for a long time and can wholeheartedly recommend it.
