The breakfast was surprisingly good, and there was even a hotel cat. It’s a simple, friendly, inexpensive place that did better than I’d expected, though my expectations were low.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel is right off the highway. The rooms, though, are small and look fairly dated.

The room smelled of smoke even though I’d specifically booked a quiet, non-smoking room. It was beside the lobby, with no real sound insulation, so I could hear every conversation and woke up every hour. I slept terribly. I’d also paid everything in advance via iDeal, but still had to pay €1 by credit card to get into the hotel, and contactless wasn’t accepted. Remember your card or you may have to ask another guest. It’s relatively cheap and beside the highway, but otherwise I wouldn’t say it’s worth it.

We stayed one night as a family of four on the way from the UK to Switzerland. The family room was good value and met our needs, especially with safe parking. B&B Hotels are good for this kind of stopover. Check your email’s Junk folder for the code to enter the hotel.
